Sacred Woodwind Collection

From clarinetist and arranger, Dr. Amy Lee Gabbitas, RGM presents her collection of Woodwind Trios, based on Sacred Christian Hymns. About the collection, Dr. Gabbitas states:

"Over the decades of being a church organist, I've collected dozens of organ books full of preludes and hymn arrangements. The options for organ books are seemingly endless. In contrast, instrumental hymn arrangements for anything besides flute or violin are virtually impossible to find. As a clarinetist, I quickly learned how to adapt many flute and violin parts, always hoping that someday there would be more arrangements written for clarinet. This sacred reed trio project started as a way to create music during my personal recovery from brain surgery. God sent beautiful melodies to my mind to distract me from the intense pain and temporary inability to play the clarinet. "Amazing Grace" in particular gave me hope and comfort while my body was ready to pass out and give up. I saw this as an opportunity to finally write arrangements for other woodwinds. It helps that I have several excellent musician friends that were more than willing to jump in on this project. I hope that you enjoy listening to and playing this music."
